Ralph Nobo, MD

Ralph J. Nobo, Jr., M.D., is an obstetrician/gynecologist in Bartow, Florida and a board member of the Physicians Foundation. He is President of the Florida Medical Association (FMA), which represents 20,000+ physicians across the state.

Dr. Nobo earned his medical degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela and completed his residency at the University Of Illinois, Peoria, and St. Agnes Hospital/Johns Hopkins. He has a long track record of leadership within organized medicine. Dr. Nobo has served the FMA in numerous roles, including FMA PAC President, FMA Vice President, FMA Secretary, and Delegate to the American Medical Association (AMA). He has chaired and served on many FMA councils, task forces and committees, including the Council on Legislation, Bylaws Committee (as Chair), the Task Force on Medical Staff Autonomy (as Chair), and the Council on Medical Economics (as Vice Chair). Dr. Nobo is also Medical Student Advisor for the FMA and Student Liaison for the FMA and the AMA. 

In addition to his FMA service, Dr. Nobo is a former President of the Polk County Medical Association (PCMA), Past President of the “We Care” program of the PCMA and former Vice Chair of the Polk County Indigent Health Care System. His extensive community involvement includes serving as a member of the Bartow Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Past Medical Advisor for the Bartow Chapter of the American Cancer Society, Past President and Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Polk Museum of Art, member of the Polk Vision Steering Committee, and much more.  He was also an Associate Affiliate Professor OB/GYN University of South Florida.

Dr. Nobo is married to Laura Carerro, and they have three children, Rafael, Christopher and Laura.
